How to Prepare Your Garden for an Outdoor Sauna
Access, levels, drainage and power. A short checklist to have your garden ready before delivery day.
Start with access. Your sauna arrives as components, but the largest pieces still need a route through to the garden. A clear path of around a metre is usually enough, and side access avoids carrying anything through the house.
Next, the base. Any outdoor sauna needs a flat, stable and free draining foundation: slabs, a concrete pad or ground screws all work well. We quote and build bases in house from as little as £200.
Think about drainage and airflow. Leave a gap behind the cabin so air can move around the timber, and avoid placing it in a hollow where water collects.
Finally, power. Electric heaters need a proper connection completed by a Part P registered electrician, which we arrange as part of the same quote. Wood fired stoves need no electricity at all, only sensible clearance around the flue.
